Abstract

This preprint introduces the Tri-Layer Integrated Model (TLIM) as a framework for analysing institutional systems across three interacting layers: textual representations, operational practices, and genealogical structures.

The model captures how institutional continuity and transformation emerge from interactions across these layers. Rather than focusing on isolated elements, TLIM provides a systematic approach to understanding institutional mobility through layered dynamics.

The framework enables comparative analysis across domains by identifying patterns of stability, drift, and transformation.

This paper establishes the foundational definition and analytical scope of TLIM as a general model for studying knowledge systems and institutional dynamics.
